THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS: Dodge County Commissioner Don McCranie was indicted on a felony charge of conspiracy to buy votes by a grand jury of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia; and
WHEREAS: An Executive Order was issued on July 3 1, 1997 suspending Don McCranie as Dodge County Commissioner pursuant to O.C.G.A. 5 45-5-6; and
WHEREAS: The aforesaid code section provides that the Governor shall appoint a replacement commissioner for the duration of the suspension; and
WHEREAS: By Executive Order dated July 3 1, 1997, the Honorable James W. Spradley of Dodge County, Georgia was appointed as the replacement commissioner of Dodge County for the duration of the suspension of Don McCranie; and
WHEREAS: The Honorable James W. Spradley submitted his resignation as the replacement commissioner of Dodge County and such resignation has been accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE. PURSIJANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, PARTICULARLY BY VIRTUE OF THE PROVTSIONS OF THE AFORESAID ACT, IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED: That the Honorable M. Lawton Douglas, Jr. of Dodge County, Georgia is hereby appointed as the replacement commissioner of Dodge County, effective this date and continuing for the duration of the suspension of Don McCranie.
