WHEREAS:

The 1999 Georgia General Assembly passed Senate Bill 24 1, creating the Department of Community Health for the purpose of establishing better coordination of state health care services; and
Senate Bill 24 1 created within the Department of Community Health the Office of Women's Health in order to raise awareness of women's nonreproductive health issues, to inform and engage in prevention and education activities relating to women's health issues, to serve as a clearinghouse for women's health information, and to develop and distribute a comprehensive state plan to address women's health issues, among other purposes; and
Senate Bill 24 1 provides that the Office of Women's Health shall be governed by an advisory council consisting of eleven members serving two-year terms of office, and which bill was signed by me on April 19, 1999, as Act 268 and became effective July 1, 1999;

NOW THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
That the following persons be, and they are hereby, appointed as members of the Advisory Council to the Office of Women's Health to serve in accordance with Senate Bill 24 1 for terms of office ending August 3 1,200 1:
