Executive order [Aug. 16, 1999A]

THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:

WHEREAS:

The State of Georgia holds title to and the Department of Human Resources is the custodian of Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation in Meriwether County; and

WHEREAS:

In a remote wooded area of the Institute that is not normally visited by staff or clients of the Institute there are two derelict structures near the CSX Railroad right-of-way in the 2nd land district that have stood vacant for a number of years having been residences at one time; and

WHEREAS:

Said structures have been heavily vandalized and apparently visited only by vagrants and vandals with one of the structures having been partially destroyed by fire and neither being habitable or otherwise useful for purposes of the Institute; and

WHEREAS:

Officials of Meriwether County have recommended the demolition and removal of the said structures; and

WHEREAS:

By resolution dated June 16, 1999, the Board of Human Resources approved and recommended the complete razing and removal of the structures; and it is hereby

ORDERED:

That the Department of Human Resources is authorized to take such actions as necessary to effectuate the razing of the above described
