EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS: Building No. 711. 176 Fifth Street, at the Georgia Institute of Technology needs to be removed:
WHEREAS:
In the opinion of Mr. William K. Chatham, Vice Chancellor for Facilities of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. the building can no longer be advantageously used by the Georgia Institute of Technology or the University System of Georgia and should be demolished and removed; and
WHEREAS:
The Board of Regents at its meeting on April 2 1, 1999, declared by resolution that said building could no longer be used advantageously in the University System and that the demolition and removal of said building is in the best interest of the institution and the University System of Georgia: now
THEREFORE: I, Roy E. Barnes, Governor of the State of Georgia, acting under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by Georgia Laws, 1935, page 168. do hereby concur in the aforesaid declaration of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and approve the demolition and removal of the said building from the Georgia Institute of Technology; and
it is hereby
ORDERED:
That the appropriate staff of the Georgia Institute of Technology, acting under the approval of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, be and it is hereby authorized and directed to have said building demolished and to have all building materials removed from the premises by public works contract; all said demolition and, if applicable, removal
