THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:

WHEREAS:

The Attorney General, Thurbert E. Baker, has provided a certified copy of a felony indictment by a grand jury of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, against Diana Harvey Johnson, formerly known as Diane Harvey Johnson, a member of the Georgia State Senate from the Second District; and

WHEREAS:

Article II, Section III Paragraph I of the Georgia Constitution provides that whenever the Governor receives a cenified copy of a felony indictment by a grand jury of this State or by the United States against a member of the General Assembly, he shall appoint one member of the Senate and one member of the House of Representatives who, along with the Attorney General, shall constitute a review commission to conduct an investigation; and

WHEREAS:

If the Attorney General brings the indictment against the public official or recuses himself from the constitutional responsibility of serving on such review commission, the Governor shall appoint a retired Supreme Court Justice or a retired Court of Appeals Judge to serve on such a review commission.

ORDERED:

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT T0 THE AUTHOR ITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

That the following-named persons be and they are hereby appointed to conduct an investigation of the allegations and charges against Diana Harvey Johnson, formerly known as Diane Harvey Johnson, a member of the Georgia State Senate from the Second District, and to make a written report of said investigation to me as Governor, on or before the expiration of fourteen (14) days from the date of this Executive Order:
