THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:

WHEREAS:

On April 12, 1999, Lieutenant Clyde W. Alley, III of the Tybee Island Police Department was killed in the
line of duty while attempting to apprehend a suspect fleeing and resisting arrest; and

WHEREAS:

On April 12, 1999, Detective Sergeant Michael F. Hogan of the Tybee Island Police Department was severely injured in the line of duty while attempting to apprehend the same suspect fleeing and resisting arrest; and

WHEREAS:

Section 45-12-35 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated provides that the Governor of the State of Georgia is authorized, in his discretion, to offer and cause to be paid a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons whohave committed's felony in the State of Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, PARTICULARLY BY VIRTUE OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE ABOVE CODE SECTION, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED:

That a rewa,rd in the amount of $5,000.00 is hereby
offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons whose unlawful
flight was the proximate cause of the death of Lieutenant Clvde W. Alley, III and the injuries
