THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER
BY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS:
On February 26, 1999, individuals discovered the badly decomposed remains of a child, John Doe, between five and seven years of age. The remains were located in a wooded area near the intersection of Clifton Springs and Clifton Church Road in South DeKalb County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS: While the cause and manner of death of John Doe has not been determined, law enforcement personnel have launched a
vigorous homicide investigation; and
WHEREAS:
Section 45-12-35 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated
provides that the Governor of the State of Georgia is authorized, in his discretion, to offer and cause to be paid a reward for information leading to the arrest and
conviction of any person or persons who have committed a
felony in the State of Georgia.
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, PARTICULARLY BY VIRTUE
OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE ABOVE CODE SECTION, IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED:
That a reward in the amount of $5,000.00 is hereby offered
for information leading to the identification of the
remains of John Doe and the arrest and conviction of the
person or persons responsible for the death of John Doe.
