On September 29, 2007 at the University Hospital, Raymond left this life to be with Jesus. He was the fifth son, sixth child of the late Mrs. Martha J. Stokes and the late Mr. James Stokes, Sr. At an early age, Raymond accepted Jesus Christ
as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Hale Street Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend who will
be truly missed by all.

He leaves to mourn his going home: six (6) children: Mrs. Charita Bussey, Mr. Raymond Bernard, Jr., Mr. Jonathan Omar, Sr., and Ms. Brianna Sarayya
Stokes, all of Augusta, Georgia, and Ms. Adrayann LaDasha and Mr. Ra Jon Mac Stokes, both of Statesboro, Georgia.; two (2) sisters: Mrs. Brenda M.
(Defore) Holmes and Mrs. Rachel B. (Michael) Meadows; five (5) brothers: Mr. Vernon L, Mr. Ronald M. (Vickie), Mr. Tony Stokes, and Mr. Alfred Lofton, all of Augusta, Georgia, and Mr. James "Sonnie" (Judy) Stokes of Anchorage, Alaska; six(6) grandchildren: Mr. Devon Raemon, Ms. Sade Monae, Mr. Amari Bernard,
Mr. Jonathan Omar Stokes, Jr., Mr. Choyce Maleeke and Mr. JaCobe Zion Bussey, all of Augusta, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Raymond has left this world of pain and sorrow to be with Jesus in a place of peace and joy everlasting. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus... Do not mourn him for his leaving us,
But celebrate his life now and forever more with the Lord.
We will miss you our brother, uncle, father, grandfather And friend but we will see you in the Sweet Bye-N-Bye... Sweet rest until we meet again in that Great Gittin-Up Morning!!!

UNCLE, FATHER,
