There comes a time in everyone's life when they must leave their loved ones and depart these earthly shores. That time came to Mr. William G. Johnson, Sr. of Hephzibah, GA on Saturday at University Hospital on, January 3, 2009.
William was born to Eulia Gibbs and William Olanda Johnson on September 20, 1929 in Augusta, Georgia. He attended Haines High School and was enlisted in the U. S. Army but was medically discharged.. Believing marriage to be honorable, he united with Juanita J. Everson. To this union six children were born. Upon her death, he found love again and united in matrimony with Deloris Andrews. This union produced eight children.
Mr. Johnson was a hard working man. He was formerly employed as an insurance agent and District Insurance Manager at Wisconsin National Insurance Company. He was such a hard working insurance agent that he earned a trip to Hawaii. He was further employed by the Richmond County Board of Education and retired from the Augusta Country Club after many years of dedicated service.
Mr. Johnson enjoyed his family, golf and just being outdoors. He was a devoted spouse and loving father. Mr. Johnson was a master entertainer and always had a humorous word to share. He loved music and enjoyed playing the piano as his children were born.
