breath and spirit returned to God.
Charles H Evans was the son of the late Ardeiie and Frank Evans, o n June 11,
1966 he was united into holy matrimony with Mnar9;ehGu^ py' h

Monroe of Augusta, and Miss Patripe Y. Evans of Atlanta.
At an early age Charles was baptized atTrinity C.M.E. Church in Augusta He was a member of the 1961 graduating class of Lucy C. Laney Hign School While in h ^h school he was a member of the Wildcat football and track team.
He entered Albany State College in the fall of 1961 on a football scholarship^ He participated on the football team as the quarterback, wide receiver, and a defensive^back despite weighing only 158 pound. His excephona a M * c ability earned him letters in football and track in 1963. In 2002, he was ducted into the Albany State Athletic Hall of Fame.
He nlaved smi-pro football for the Augusta Eagles (quarterback) and later H E tiri the tearn He tauqht swimming, coached little league teams, women s ^ b a fa n d bastetba!l and organized and coached his church's softball team. He oraanized the Augusta Volleyball Association for high school and colleg He also s e , ^ * a high school and college official in football, basketball and
volleyball.
He taught in the Richmond County school system where W l^ b a fk e ^ b a ll ence health and physical education teacher. He coached football, basketball, and track He also helped more than 25 students earn college scholarships.
