Obituary
On Friday evening, February 16, 2007 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, a quiet peace & new journey began. Derotha Adams was called home to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
Derotha's life began in Cairo, Georgia on May 16, 1925. She was a blessing to her parents, the late Rev. & Mrs. Arnec (Beatrice) Thomas.
The family moved to Ebbs, Florida in 1927. Derotha's education was rooted in the Florida Public School System.
Her first marriage was to Henry Stevens, Sr. and to that union one son was born, Henry Stevens, Jr.
Derotha later married Collis Adams, who preceded her in death.
In 2001, she relocated to Augusta, Georgia to live with her son due to illness. Here she worshipped with her son Dea. Henry Steven, Jr. at the Antioch Baptist Church were she became a member & continued her devotion to God.
She leaves cherished & loving memories to her family, a devoted & loving son and daughter-in-law, Henry (Berlinda) Stevens, Jr.; one brother, Willie (Sandra) Thomas, St. Petersburg, FI.; four sisters, Lucinda Owens & Ann M. Spell, Laurel, FL, Winnie Williams, Syracuse, NY, & Mary Wiggins, Davenport, IA; a loving & dedicated sister-in-law, Minnie Thomas, Tampa, FL; a loving granddaughter, Karmenlita (Donald) Stevens; a loving grandson, Damien (Telena) Stevens, Nashville, TN; six greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews & loving friends.
