Reflection on the Life of Velma Ann Reid
Velma Ann Reid (Judy) was born in New York City on July 18, 1950 to the late Eli and Gloria Gregory.
On December 5, 2005 she won her fight with death and answered the call of her Father to come home. She understood that ('for this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality" (1 Cor. 15:53) and entered into that place ofeternal healing, peace and rest.
She attended and completed school in Bronx, New York and married Carlton Reid in 1969. From this union came her only child Shauna Nicole Reid
She accepted the Lord at an early age and relocated to Georgia in 1980. She later joined the church family at the New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her only child Shauna (Joseph Ghant), grandsons Shawn Reid-Fellrer and Anthony Goring all of Lithonia, GA; three sisters Shirley Gregory of Bronx, NY; Vanessa Hardy of Savannah, GA; and Gwendolyn (Gregory) Winkfield of Kissimmee, FL; nephew Shannon Hardy of Brooklyn, NY; niece Ebony (Kevin) Segre of Westchester, NY; niece Essence Hardy ofBronx, NY; niece Rasheedah Gregory of Orlando, FL; niece Shameka Thomason ofHinesville, GA; niece Jennifer Gregory of Bronx, NY; nephew Joshua Karl D. Winkfield of Kissimmee, FL; nephew Brandon Gregory of New York, NY; niece Amber Hardy ofSavannah, GA; niece Karla E. Winkfield of Kissimmee, FL: nephew Thomas Gregory of New York, NY; 13 great nephews, 4 great nieces and a host of other relatives andfriends.
